Adamat Performance offers the lightweight single-mass twin-plate clutch kit for six-cylinder turbo BMW engines, including N54 (6 or 8 bolt versions) and N55 series. The clutch is a plug-and-play replacement for the factory dual-mass setup.

The complete Stage 1 kit includes:

  • 6.9kg flywheel made from aerospace-grade AlZnMg+Ti alloy, exceeding the strength of typical flywheel materials. The flywheel is 100% CNC-machined and comes with an integrated starter ring gear. A replaceable spheroidal graphite iron (GJS600) friction insert is fitted, allowing easy refurbishment.
  • Two 240mm clutch discs with LUK 8090S Kevlar-reinforced friction linings
  • SACHS 3000724001 pressure plate
  • Intermediate plate made from specially heat-treated steel, resistant to high-temperature deformation
  • New flywheel bolts, grade 12.9
  • Assembly alignment dowel for accurate disc centring

 

Clutch description:

Adamat Performance clutches feature a patented damping system for the intermediate plates used in multi-disc designs. Multi-disc clutches can often produce concerning noises such as knocks or rattles, which can leave the user uncertain whether this is normal or a sign of wear. With their solution, these noises are eliminated, and the clutch operates with the smoothness of a single-disc system. The damping system also prevents shock between the surfaces of the intermediate plate in contact with the flywheel.

 

Additionally, the clutch incorporates a spring-based centring system for the intermediate plate during disengagement. Properly calculated springs allow fast gear changes, similar to a single-disc clutch, by automatically retracting the intermediate plate from the clutch discs during operation.
