Adamat Performance offers a single-disc Kevlar clutch kit for Toyota 1UZ/3UZ FE engines to mate with BMW gearboxes via an adapter (see compatibility list below). Their clutches perform reliably both in extreme motorsport conditions and in street-driven projects.

 

STAGE 1 complete kit includes:

  • 6.4kg flywheel, CNC-machined from a special aerospace-grade AlZnMg+Ti alloy. The single-mass flywheel is supplied with an integrated starter ring gear. Depending on gearbox version, the input shaft bearing is either mounted in the flywheel, or a centring dowel is provided for the pilot bearing located in the gearbox input shaft.
  • Luk 8090S pads + LUK M57 SAC pressure plate 624310100
  • Clutch release bearing
  • Adapter plate connecting the Toyota engine to a BMW gearbox, manufactured from DURAL AW-2017A
  • New bolts: grade 12.9 flywheel bolts, plus gearbox and adapter bolts

  

Why do we use aerospace-grade AlZnMg+Ti alloy?

This special lightweight alloy outperforms standard steels typically used for flywheels. Its strength characteristics exceed those of spheroidal graphite iron used in crankshafts. In addition, the alloy provides excellent heat dissipation from the replaceable cast-iron friction surface that engages with the clutch discs. The flywheel effectively acts as a heat sink. By comparison, traditional steel flywheels are prone to deformation caused by overheating.
